Warning Signs

Emotional:

› Sudden change in personality, agitation or depression

› Unusual behavior

› Confusion or dementia

› Withdrawn or non-communicative

Environmental:

› Fecal or urine odors, unsanitary and unclean conditions

› Dirt on elder or in elder's room, soiled beds

› Lack of assistance for eating and drinking

› Torn clothing or broken personal items

› Abandonment or seclusion
